🔹Professor David Baker – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Professor David Baker is a globally recognized academic leader with over 35 years of experience in higher education. He holds an MA, MMus, MLS, PhD, and MBA from some of the world's most prestigious institutions, including the University of Cambridge and King’s College London. As Principal and Chief Executive of Plymouth Marjon University, he played a pivotal role in guiding the institution to university college status and securing its own taught degree awarding powers. In recognition of his transformative leadership, he was awarded the title of Emeritus Professor in Strategic Information Management at Plymouth Marjon University.

Beyond Plymouth Marjon, Professor Baker has held senior leadership roles including Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of East Anglia, further demonstrating his expertise in academic governance, institutional strategy, and higher education policy.

His lifelong commitment to academic excellence, strategic education management, and global collaboration makes him an exceptional leader for British International University in Turkmenistan, ensuring its success as a prestigious transnational institution.

🔹 Alison Allden, OBE – Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Alison Allden OBE is a distinguished figure in the UK higher education sector, recognized for her extensive leadership and contributions. She holds a BA Hons from the University of Bristol and an MSc with Distinction from the London School of Economics (LSE)
From 2009 to 2015, Alison served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), overseeing the collection and publication of data for the UK's higher education sector. Prior to this role, she held senior executive positions at several prestigious UK universities, including the University of Bristol, the University of Warwick, and Goldsmiths, University of London. Her leadership responsibilities spanned student services, recruitment, IT, and learning resources. In 2016, Alison was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to higher education.  She currently holds non-executive roles, serving as Deputy Chair of the Board of Regents University Ltd London and on the Board of Study Group UK and Harper Adams University. She was recently a member of the Bar Standards Board regulating barristers in Great Britain. She currently is an external advisor on the University of Cambridge Information Services Committee and on the Higher Education Policy Institute Advisory Board, contributing her expertise in higher education and IT.

🔹 Rebecca Morrison- Chief Academic Officer (CAO)

Rebecca Morrison is a highly respected leader in higher education, with over 18 years of leadership, strategic development, and management experience, and 30+ years of experience in academia.

She currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Academic Services and Student Engagement, and Registrar at Northeastern University London. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring academic excellence, student success, and institutional compliance with UK and international higher education standards. Rebecca has extensive expertise in strategic planning, governance, and quality assurance, having worked with key regulatory bodies such as the Department for Education (DfE), Office for Students (OfS), and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). She has successfully led and project-managed large-scale initiatives for Higher Education Providers (HEPs), collaborating with students, faculty, executives, governors, and external stakeholders to drive academic innovation and regulatory excellence.

A recognized authority in academic governance, Rebecca has played a crucial role in the development of policies, procedures, and quality assurance frameworks, ensuring alignment with the UK qualifications framework. Her meticulous attention to detail and proven leadership in institutional governance and regulatory compliance make her an invaluable asset to British International University in Turkmenistan. With her commitment to academic integrity, regulatory excellence, and student-centered education, Rebecca is a key driving force behind BIUT’s mission to deliver world-class British education in Turkmenistan.

🔹 Dr. Lucy Ellis – Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO)

Dr. Lucy Ellis is a renowned academic and consultant with a diverse background in lecturing, research, and project development. She holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Phonetics and has served as a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader at Plymouth Marjon University, where she was instrumental in curriculum development and academic leadership.
Currently, Dr. Ellis is an Honorary Research Fellow at the College of Humanities, University of Exeter, contributing to advanced research in the humanities. She collaborates closely with Professor David Baker as Editor-in-Chief for the 'Encyclopedia of Libraries, Librarianship, and Information Science', a comprehensive reference work published by Elsevier. Additionally, she serves as the Series Editor for 'Digital Information Review' and 'Advances in Information', overseeing publications that explore contemporary issues in digital information and library sciences. Dr. Ellis has co-authored several influential works, including 'Future Directions in Digital Information: Predictions, Practice, and Participation', which examines emerging trends and practices in the digital information landscape. Her role as a reviewer for esteemed journals and organizations, such as Information and Learning Sciences (Wiley) and the British Academy grants scheme, underscores her expertise and commitment to advancing knowledge in her field.With her extensive experience in academic leadership, research excellence, and strategic project management, Dr. Ellis brings invaluable insights to the British International University in Turkmenistan (BIUT).
